If it is found early enough Bowel cancer is one of those that respond well to treatment. For this reason alone then it is sensible to be vigilant for the common early bowel cancer symptoms. The common ones include (but there are others as well):-
- Bleeding from your anus or blood in your poo (do be aware that that in most cases this will be due to more innocuous causes for example as haemorrhoids).
- A change in your usual bowel habit especially one that lasts for more than 3 weeks particularly if your stools appear looser than normal.
- Extreme fatigue where there is no obvious reason.
- Any pain or unexplained lump in your abdomen.
- Unexplained weight loss i.e. You are not dieting and have no other illness.
Don’t panic however if you experience these symptoms as most will not be caused by bowel cancer but if you do see any signs do arrange to see your doctor to be properly check just to make sure.
